Onssi shows Ocularis enhancements at Canasa

Toronto, Canada

ONSSI has upgraded its Ocularis Video Management Software (VMS) with a number of enhancements designed to provide even greater stability, more robust security, new technology integrations and innovative features. These advancements are among the many on display in the company’s booth at Canasa’s Security Canada Central Conference and Expo this week.

“With new enhancements that provide end users with increased stability, security and versatility, the latest version of Ocularis significantly adds to its strong reputation as a highly advanced VMS solution,” said Ken LaMarca, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, ONSSI. “In addition to innovative software enhancements, new technologies and products from our growing number of technology partnerships allow us to better serve end users by offering expanded features and functions that far exceed typical VMS applications.”

Genesis Agency Inc., ONSSI’s Canadian manufacturer rep is joining the company at Canasa, and technology partner ConvergenceTP (C2P) is also on hand to demonstrate the integration between its solutions and Ocularis.

At the heart of the C2P integration is the ability to bring information from IP-enabled appliances into OnSSI’s Ocularis VMS. This allows Ocularis to provide vital information to assist operators in assessing emerging situations and helps enable them to choose an appropriate course of action. This solution brings video and data together to provide a highly effective utility for security applications in banking, access control, asset tracking, license plate recognition, point-of-sale and more.

Recognising the critical need to keep VMS software up to date, Ocularis 5 includes an auto-updating feature like those available on most smartphones and tablets to ensure users are running the most current – and most secure – version. This provides users with peace of mind while saving dealers and integrators time that otherwise might be spent going on-site to perform a software update.

Smart Camera Driver technology provides out-of-the-box support for newly introduced cameras from many top camera manufacturers without requiring users to wait months for specific drivers to be developed, allowing customers to immediately take advantage of the newest, most advanced camera features. Additionally, Ocularis supports generic RTSP and MPEG drivers, as well as ONVIF and ONVIF Profile S.

Ocularis 5 is offered in three models: Professional, designed for organisations operating multiple locations with small to mid-sized camera counts; Enterprise, built for a wide range of mid to large IT-centric organisations; and Ultimate, created for large organisations with extended command and control needs and recording server failover.

Throughout the Security Canada Central show, ONSSI will demo its software and explain to attendees how Ocularis can save them money and decrease cyber risk while increasing security and peace of mind.
