ONSSI integrates with RS2

Pearl River, NY

Ocularis 5 video management software (VMS) from ONSSI now fully integrates with RS2 Technologies’ Access It! Universal.NET v5 access control software. The integration allows the two open source systems to communicate on the same network, giving users a more powerful and comprehensive security solution.

“ONSSI’s open architecture platform continues to drive advanced integrated security solutions with feature-rich functionality and centralised control,” said Ken LaMarca, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, ONSSI. “The Ocularis 5 and Universal.NET v5 integration eases system administration and lets security personnel focus on overall risk management.”

The integrated access control/VMS system enables maximized efficiency through centralised control. More specifically, the integration allows video playback on demand or tied to alarm/event time and data; the ability to display cameras from graphical display maps; full PTZ camera control; live camera view on demand; IP camera support; a simple GUI interface for faster incident investigations and a search video and export evidence function.

“The integration of Ocularis into our Universal.NET access control system helps address the growing complexity of managing today’s physical security challenges,” said David W. Barnard, Director of Dealer Development, RS2 Technologies. “Now, end users have more control and increased capabilities to improve security.”

Ocularis 5 is designed as an intelligent, cost-effective platform that simplifies workloads and system management. Features include Critical Camera Failover to ensure continuous sight by switching to a failover camera in as little as two seconds; hardware efficiency, allowing generic settings to be copied across multiple channels for faster installation; and stronger network security with end-to-end encryption. Ocularis 5 also features better storage management with automatic optimisation of hard drive volumes and load balancing across multiple storage components.
