The new device enables users to push remote IP cameras, WAPs and access controls to the extreme without being hindered by the limitations of the existing copper network. Users can run power from any convenient AC or DC power source up to 100 metres over copper/ Ethernet and then feel the freedom of running the data over fibre up to 75 miles per link with, according to AFI, zero data loss.
The multifaceted MX-1G-PoE+ comes standard with an open SFP port to accommodate varying fibre requirements and supports both PoE and PoE+ power requirements.
The Link Pass Through feature monitors all receive ports for loss. If there is a loss, the media converter will automatically disable the transmit signal of the media converter’s other port.
