Many-to-many facial recognition system

Sydney, Australia

iOmniscient the makers of the IQ suite of automated surveillance software products has introduced IQ Face, a new software product that, according to the company, will revolutionize the way facial recognition is performed. IQ face is able to detect multiple faces in a crowd and simultaneously recognize their identity from one or more large data bases.

IQ Face is the world's first many-to-many facial recognition system that can operate in a crowded scene.

Facial recognition systems to date have only worked with images of faces in controlled environments as in applications involving access or passport control. Here a person is required to look directly into a camera at close range for the identification to occur. Such systems only work well in situations where external factors such as lighting are strictly controlled.

IQ Face enables authorized personnel to identify and recognize individuals within a crowd. IQ Face excels in uncontrolled environments with variable lighting, continuous movement, low resolution cameras and variable facial angles - a capability that is internationally patented.

This new technology has many potential applications to assist in security operations and as a customer service tool. Imagine recognizing VIP clients as they enter a hotel and being able to provide them with customized services. Imagine a security officer in a shopping mall being alerted when a convicted shoplifter enters the store. Imagine a terrorist on a black list being recognized the moment he enters an airport or railway station. All this is possible with IQ Face.

"All our Intelligent Surveillance products operate in crowded scenes. That is our specialization and with our internationally patented technology we can detect abandoned objects, theft, graffiti and a number of other events in crowded scenes - as opposed to our competitors who can only operate when the environment is relatively empty. This is why our products tend to be used in so many major airports, railways and other projects involving large numbers of people" said Dr Rustom Kanga, CEO of iOmniscient. "It was therefore natural force us to develop our Facial Recognition
capability to cope with crowded scenes."

iOmniscient is launching IQ Face around the world through its series of "Enlightenment Seminars" to educate the industry about the new technology. Consecutive seminars are planned in the next few months in Los Angeles, Mumbai, Delhi, Shenzen and Dubai. The seminars will focus on the new IQ Face technology and the latest trends in automated surveillance.
