JVC and Milestone enters partnership

Las Vegas, Nevada

JVC Professional makes an agreement with Milestone Systems to strengthen both companies' IP security systems business and expand into global markets. This enhanced relationship will provide users with innovative IP security systems that deliver added value while contributing to public safety and security.

Since 2005, JVC has worked with Milestone Systems to market Milestone's XProtect IP video management software in European markets. Under this agreement, JVC is combining Milestone's software with its own hardware technology resulting in the industry's first standalone IP network video recorder and management solution.

JVC's VR-N900U network video recorder (NVR), introduced at ISC West 2007, is the first product with embedded management software based on Milestone's XProtect application. The VR-N900U is a fully integrated standalone NVR, which can record images from both analog and IP cameras enabling the cost-effective upgrade of an existing system to a digital IP network.

"By integrating Milestone IP video management software with JVC's hardware technology, you get the best of both worlds," says Lars Thinggaard, CEO, Milestone Systems "At the same time both companies will gain mutual benefits from joint efforts in the global market for surveillance systems"

"As security needs expand globally, so will the demand for the most innovative and efficient IP video surveillance systems," says Steve Martin, video security division manager, assistant vice president, JVC Professional Products Company "The collaboration between JVC and Milestone Systems will essentially enable both companies to penetrate the market on a larger scale through their next generation IP security systems"

The VR-N900U will be a central component for innovative, standalone IP security systems that will enable recording, viewing and searching images from IP cameras without having to use a separate PC.
