Integrated IP based management system

Sydney, Australia

Unison from Pacom is a modern IP-based security management system that integrates access control, intrusion detection, video surveillance, fire and intercom into a single, intuitive user interface.
Located on one of the world’s most spectacular sites on the edge of Sydney Harbour, the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia (MCA) re-opened its doors in 2012 after an extensive $53 million redevelopment. Extending over 15,000 square metres, the MCA comprises museum exhibits, artwork, public cafés, function venues, corporate offices, and training, learning and business facilities. The MCA is protected by Pacom’s latest security management system, Pacom .is Unison.

Unison is used at the MCA to centrally manage and integrate more than 60 access-controlled doors, five elevators and hundreds of alarm points and cameras. The MCA’s cutting edge, digital infrastructure enables the security control room operators to have full command and control capabilities of the entire facility using Unison’s interactive graphical maps.

The Unison security system provides round-the-clock protection to spacious new galleries that showcase contemporary art from across Australia and around the world. The MCA attracted more than half a million people in the first six months since re-opening.

“Pacom provides one of the pivotal platforms that ensures that the MCA has a secure environment for artists, artworks, educators and staff to fulfil our vision of offering programmes that enrich the lives of all Australians.” said Euan Upston, Chief Operating Officer for the MCA. “The ability to integrate across different platforms was one of the key reasons that we chose Pacom. Pacom’s commitment to excellence and company ethos based on going the extra yard was a major differentiator”.
