Extreme CCTV, which pioneered the development of active-infrared illuminators for CCTV security and holds several patents on its designs, has incorporated the several research developments from its night vision labs into the SuperLED, ensuring a life expectancy exceeding five years.
"We expect that our systems integrators will combine a pair of the new high performance SuperLEDs with our extended-IR CCD cameras to exceed 1000 ft (~300 m) of night vision," says Jack Gin, President and CEO of Extreme CCTV.
"Homeland Security specialists will use intensified CCDs and zoom lenses to acquire surveillance from the 2000 ft mark (~600 m)."

High Performance SuperLED IR Illuminator

Extreme CCTV International Inc., a division of Extreme CCTV Inc., releases a new high performance model of the SuperLED infrared illuminator. Designed jointly by Extreme´s Canadian and British R&D teams, the newly developed light emitting diodes concentrate electromagnetic energy at near-infrared wavelengths. The resulting focused narrow beam, which is a technically ideal match for longer zoom lenses, delivers +800 ft (~240 m) of active-infrared night vision when combined with day/night CCD cameras. Requiring only 140 watts of power, the new SuperLED allows for absolute performance at critical applications including ports, critical infrastructure and defense.
