Geovision debuts 12MP box IP camera

Taipei, Taiwan

At ASIS 2014, Geovision will present their latest 12MP box IP camera, and the prototype for the 12MP fisheye camera.  Geovision aims to demonstrate the company's capability for the ultra-high-resolution era, and promises more models in high resolution and 4K in the near future.

Several new Geovision products will also make their debut. Another eye-catching product amongst the new line is the 20x IP speed dome. The innovative design offers a way for super-easy installation. One of the significant features of this design change is the omission of the pigtail from the dome body. This will minimize cabling and screws during installation. Additionally, the dome body now has a new lightweight design, which weighs less than 6.5lb. Visitors to the Geovision stand will be able to experience the specifications in action.

Geovision will also be displaying the next generation box camera, GV-BX2600. It is delivered with an in-camera video analytic and all-in-one for high-contrast and low-light conditions with its WDR Pro and Super low lux functionality.

A new PoE extender will also be introduced at the trade show - it has been designed to extend a PoE connection beyond the 100m limit, with no additional power supply.

Geovision is also revamping its current apps with GV-Eye 2.0 to support up to 5-megapixel IP cameras, designed to offer outstanding video quality on smart-phones and tablets. For fisheye model users, a fisheye de-warp function is available through in-app purchase.

Cloud-centric surveillance continues to be the trend for the industry, and Geovision has continued its development in this lineup. The Cloud series delivers nearly all the features a small business may need in an IP-based surveillance installation. All models in the series support cloud storage at 2MP recording to provide compelling video quality. To meet the standards and requirements of various sites, the series offers a wide range of options, including popular models such as outdoor, indoor, night-vision and Wifi.

The budget-friendly Target series also adds an extension. All models are now available in 2MP, compared to the current 1.3MP, retaining all the welcoming features such as, in-camera intelligent IR, defog feature, tamper alarm, privacy mask for condition alerts. The GV-EDR2100 is a new member to the Target series. It is a mini fixed rugged dome that has been designed for outdoor applications.

Geovision will also demo their latest GV-VSM, the video surveillance management platform that supports up to 64 IP video channels with the support to GPU decode and dewarp. They will also feature their GV-Edge Recording Manager, a decentralised storage for more flexible recording, and GV-Recording Server, a system that receives and records up to 128 channels of IP video. Geovision will also present GV-SNVR, their first with Linux, available in 4, 8, and 16 channels and records both in high and low resolution streams with maximum 16 channels playback simultaneously.

On the stand, Geovision will also have their PoE switches designed exclusively for IP surveillance. The selection ranges from 10/100Mbps to Gigabit, with 4, 8, 16, and 24 port models, allowing flexible wiring and providing sufficient power for IP cameras in an IP-based surveillance infrastructure. The web management model supports remote power reset for IP cameras.
