Florida gets set for national infrastructure & resilience event

There are 3 weeks to go to the start of this years Critical Infrastructure Protection and Resilience North America in Tampa, Florida, 7th-9th May 2019 at the Doubletree Hotel Tampa Airport – Westshore just five minutes from Tampa International Airport.

Critical Infrastructure Protection and Resilience North America is the only event of its kind in the US and is supported by the US Chief DISA/DoDIN Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) Program, as well as the International Association of CIP Professionals, the Government Technology & Services Coalition and Global Institute for Cyber Security & Research.

There are 16 critical infrastructure sectors whose assets, systems, and networks, whether physical or virtual, are considered so vital to the United States that their incapacitation or destruction would have a debilitating effect on security, national economic security, national public health or safety. Critical Infrastructure Protection & Resilience North America is designed specifically to meet the needs and discussions for those involved in the security, protection and resilience of CI.

The event also incorporates a leading conference programme addressing the Hot Topics of the day for developing resilience strategies and operational planning in CI and CII/Cyber security.

Visitors will be able to gain insight into national and regional policy and security developments in relation to CIP, with constructive debate, educational opportunities and cooperation advocacy. For example the Presidential Policy Directive 21 (PPD-21): Critical Infrastructure Security and Resilience advances a national policy to strengthen and maintain secure, functioning, and resilient critical infrastructure.

An exciting line up of over 25 expert international speakers will be sharing their thoughts and experiences on how to better secure and protect critical infrastructure and develop resilience strategies.

In a major city such as Tampa, the importance of its critical infrastructure cannot be under-estimated. How does a City such as Tampa best prepare for the expected and unexpected. What Best Practice does Tampa employ in its threats assessment, emergency response and disaster management? How do the emergency services and critical infrastructure operators collaborate to ensure high levels of resilience and mitigate the impact of such attacks/disasters?
