Face detection & recognition from Airlive

Taipei, Taiwan

Airlive has just introduced its latest new cameras with an IVS face detection and recognition functionality - the MD-3025-IVS and the BU-3026-IVS.
Intelligent video surveillance (IVS) face detection and recognition is designed to provide advanced, accurate video analytics that can be used to search, track, classify, and identify faces of people within the monitored area.

This IVS function automatically detects and captures a person's face and compares it to an image recorded in a specific database. It can alert the operator when a face is detected in the frame of the image. This new function provides an additional security shield at the entrance to a buiding to prevent unauthorised entry, to protect residents, and also allows for the creation of a database of, employees and other people for example. A camera with this IVS function, if located at the entrance to a building, can maintain a record of all those who pass through the area and save their faces into a database. If a face is detected that is not stored to the database - then the appropriate information will be displayed.

These IVS-featured IP cameras provide many benefits in application. For example, a traditional access control system allows for the entry of an unauthorised person with an authorised card, whilst on the other hand an IVS authentication system compares the card holder and his face with the image already stored in the database. For example, a passenger crossing through border control could have his face from the live video compared with that of the photo on his passport. The face search facility within these IVS IP cameras offers a great time-saver in cases where closer investigation is needed for searching suspicious behaviour - each registered facial image is linked to the relevant section of the recording.

IP cameras with IVS are able to offer an excellent solution for use in public places such as airports, stadiums, border crossings, offices, shopping malls, and other buildings.
