Edge chose to rename the company and flagship product, the Edge Access Control System (Edge ACS), to further differentiate their service-based access control solution from other legacy security products using the word "Edge" in their name.

Edge solutions allow security integrators and their central stations to provide value-added services and monitoring for their clients - earning recurring revenue while building lifelong customer relationships. The Edge ACS has now become the Reach Access Control System (Reach ACS). The web hosted software platform, EdgeWeb, is now called ReachNet.
