Delta Scientific show award winning products at ASIS New York

Palmdale, Ca

Delta Scientific will be showing the award winning MP5000 portable vehicle barricade system and DSC2000 shallow foundation barricade during the 22nd ASIS New York City Security Conference and Exposition to be held April 25-26 at the Javits Center later this month.
The Delta MP5000 won platinum and the DSC2000 took the gold for perimeter security at the recent Govsec Conference in Washington.

“The mobile MP5000 is already being used by the New York Police Department to create traffic control for temporary events,” emphasised Keith Bobrosky, Delta Scientific sales manager. “Acknowledged by the judges at the Government Security Conference as among the top security products in the world, we are sure that New York area security professionals protecting both soft and hard targets will want to learn more about them.”

According to Bobrosky, the New York Metro area already has many Delta bollards, barriers, barricades and guard booths in use that are easy to find. Delta MP5000 portables and DSC2000 barriers can be seen at the World Trade Center Memorial. Delta bollards are placed around City Field (Met’s Stadium) and along Broadway while a Delta barricade protects the old courthouse. Other barriers reside at international consulates. Besides the NYPD, mobile barriers are used by other agencies and organisations for transitory events ranging from parades to football weekends. A ballistic-rated guard booth stands outside West Point.

Delta’s 12-, 16- and 20-foot MP5000 portable vehicle barricade systems are towable, rapid deployment vehicle barricades developed for locations that have large vehicle traffic. The barricades will stop a 15,000 pound flatbed truck impacting at 40 miles per hour. The newer 20-foot MP5000 was created because U.S. Army REF (Rapid Equipping Force), based at Fort Belvoir in Virginia, had a requirement for a portable 20-foot barrier at checkpoints in Afghanistan. Due to the size of vehicles in their theatre, they wanted a unit with a clear opening larger than the standard 16-foot version. The MP5000 is one of Delta’s most popular vehicle barricades. That is because it can be towed to where vehicle security is needed and sets up in less than fifteen minutes. It is self contained and battery powered.

Set in a foundation only ten inches deep versus the standard 18 inches on most shallow foundation barriers, the Delta DSC2000 is designed for heavy use of more than 100,000 cycles per month, providing increased security for high capacity locations. Its incredibly fast operating speed of only 0.38 seconds and K12 crash rating make it extremely popular in high threat applications, a major reason for its attractiveness at embassies and military bases. It will stop a 15,000 pound vehicle going 50 mph dead in its tracks.
