Coconino county courthouse upgrades security with IQeye

San Clemente, CA (USA)

The superior court of Arizona in Coconino County, located in Flagstaff, has upgraded courthouse security by deploying IQinvision's IQeye megapixel cameras, managed by an OnSSI network video recording system. IPVision is the systems integrator, design and engineering firm managing the security system installation.

The Coconino County facility and its staff of bailiffs oversee access to the building and courtrooms and they must focus on preventing weapons of any kind reaching the interior of the building. In the light of past shootings in courtrooms and a pattern of threats against judges around the country, such security is a matter of life and death.

To meet these challenges the courthouse recently installed a new video surveillance system. 27 IQeye 701 megapixel network cameras were installed at strategic locations in the public access areas of the courthouse. The video feeds back to a central command and control center in the courthouse where it is monitored and recorded by the OnSSI software.

The significantly enhanced surveillance system allows bailiffs to monitor critical areas without the need to physically locate limited personnel in these areas. Staff can now focus on the comprehensive security picture and take on additional duties. Prior to the new system installation, bailiffs spent a considerable part of each day standing in vulnerable areas to monitor traffic and look for any threatening activity.

"The IQeye megapixel image quality coupled with the network stability of the camera cover two essential needs for this application. To date, we haven't had one service call, the system has been flawless" says Ben Green of IPVision.

"IQeye network cameras are mature, stable products and are fast becoming the standard for critical, high security applications like banks, prisons and courthouses where you can't afford to miss a thing" says Paul Bodell, IQinVision VP of sales and marketing.
