Bosch launches IP and Hybrid Divar 700 series

Ottobrunn, Germany

Bosch Security Systems is introducing a new series of IP only and hybrid (IP plus analogue) digital video recorders offering enhanced functionality and easier setting up and operation.
The network recorder 700 Series is based on a completely new all-IP platform that supports up to 32 IP cameras. The hybrid recorder 700 Series is an updated version of Bosch’s successful hybrid platform (embodied in the company’s Divar XF Hybrid recorder). It supports up to 16 IP cameras and 16 analogue cameras. Both 700 Series recorders offer real-time recording and playback in full 4CIF resolution and feature Bosch’s H.264 compression technology.

The new 700 Series recorders offer a very convenient out-of-the-box solution for setting up medium to larger-scale video surveillance networks without the need of a PC. Everything can be done via the local user interface which includes a user-friendly configuration tool embodying automatic H.264 device assignment. This allows a complete IP system to be set up with very little effort without having to individually address every IP camera in the network.

The 700 Series recorders feature four internal hard disk drives arranged in a RAID configuration. The drives are accessible from the front of the unit for easy servicing and to allow drives to be added or even replaced with larger capacity drives – providing the flexibility to add additional internal storage capacity up to a maximum of 8 TB when needed. In addition, the recorders feature an interface for a Bosch network-attached (iSCSI) network video storage array. This allows greatly expanded storage for very demanding CCTV environments with large camera counts, high resolution and frame rates, and long retention times.

The recorders also incorporate a dual-network Gigabit port to enable separate networks to be created – for example to locate the stored video on another network for increased security.

Support for text-recognition software is provided to enable recording of text together with associated video. This is useful for integration with license-plate recognition systems like the Bosch REG-Sentry system for use in, for example: parking-lot management, automatic toll collection enforcement, speed restriction enforcement, statistics collection, border surveillance and stolen vehicle searches. It can also be used to remotely monitor cashier areas to associate POS transaction data with video. And using Bosch’s VideoSDK (Software Development Kit), the 700 Series can easily be integrated into third-party security management systems such as Access Control and intrusion systems.
