Additioms to C-TEC's range of EN54-4 compliant power supplies
Wigan, UK
Housed in large metal enclosures, the new units have been specifically designed to accommodate bigger batteries of up to 2 x 12V 17A Hr. Other 24V supplies in the range include a 1.5A unit in a plastic enclosure and a 5A unit with a plastic lid and metal back box, all offering low current consumption, a single-pole volt-free fault relay and link-selectable battery charging capacity.
Also available is an innovative 12V 2A supply with optional STU mounting plate - the first of its kind to be manufactured to EN54-4:1997/A2:2006.
The BF360-12's EN54 compliance and compatibility with virtually all third-party manufactured 12V STUs makes it a a good low-cost solution for any fire alarm system requiring auto-dial facilities. There's even room inside its surface or flush mounting plastic enclosure for a 12V 3.1 AHr stand-by battery.
Comments Charlotte Manley, C-TEC's european sales manager: "The latest revision of BS 5839 part 1 states that all power supplies performing a mandatory function of a fire alarm system must comply with EN54-4. As such any power supply controlling a beam detector, auto-dial unit, fail secure door system, digital communicator, auxiliary sounder system, etc., must meet this standard. As a result, we are anticipating a huge demand for this very cost-effective and versatile range."
Other key features include deep discharge battery protection, the flagging of battery impedance faults and an optional high-temperature output that activates when a supply's internal box temperature reaches 55oC (for the connection of ventilation fans, etc).
