Started in 2004 the International Fire & Security Pakistan has grown significantly in numbers, both in attendance and exhibiting companies, from 2004 to 2006. The 2006 exhibition, situated at the Expo Centre in Karachi, featured 65 exhibiting companies from 15 different countries and is considered one among the larger security events in the region.

The show was divided upon different core sectors, like commercial safety and fire safety. Countries represented by visitors included Russia, Germany, Saudi Arabia, UK, UAE & Qatar.

The overall market size for fire, safety and security estimates to some 20 million dollars with an annual growth rate of 15-20 %. The major part of the security products in Pakistan is supplied with import (80 %) from regions such as Europe, USA and China. The remaining 20 % is locally produced locks, safety seals, gloves, safety shoes and such. Some of these locally produced security products are exported to countries like Afghanistan, Bangladesh and developing African economies.
