HID wins award for innovative pandemic technology

Austin, Tx (USA)

HID Global's, HID Location Services for Workplace Safety has been named as a 2020 Pandemic Tech Innovation Award winner.

The HID Location Services for Workplace Safety employee social distancing application leverages Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) HID Beeks Aware fobs that alert employees when they are closer than 6 feet (2 metres) for a specified period of time. Contact tracing is easily performed using the same HID Beeks Aware fob. Real-time reporting and analytics provide a full digital trail of an employee’s whereabouts and historical interactions while at work. This makes it possible to rapidly respond to cases and activate isolation procedures as needed.

“We are pleased to receive this award for our secure and privacy-preserving solution and HID applauds TMC for showcasing products that empower organisations to increase workplace safety during the global pandemic,” said Mark Robinton, Vice President of IoT Services, Identification Technologies with HID Global. “HID Location Services solution for Workplace Safety is helping organisations simplify and streamline employee social distancing and contact tracing protocols while also driving compliance to federal, state and local requirements to help prevent workplace exposure to COVID-19.”

The Pandemic Tech Innovation Awards recognise hardware, software, devices/peripherals, applications and services that help society and business function effectively in the face of challenges caused by pandemics.

“HID Global has displayed its commitment to quality and innovation in the development of their tech solutions contributing to managing and overcoming pandemic outbreaks,” said Rich Tehrani, CEO, TMC. “I look forward to more innovation from HID Global and their continued effort toward improving the future of the current challenges faced by the most recent Pandemic.”
