Software allows full demo of hybrid video recorder SISTORE MX

Zug, Switzerland

Siemens Building Technologies has produced new demo software for the SISTORE MX range of digital video recorders which allows the customer to operate and test a fully functioning demonstration on a standard PC or laptop.

The software is available as a download from the Siemens website (siemens.com/sistoremx) and shows how the hybrid video recording system can be easily managed through a simple and intuitive graphical user interface.

SISTORE MX is a hybrid video recording platform allowing for recording and control of up to 32 analogue and 32 IP cameras with a storage capacity of up to 2 TB internally. Sabotage alarm, activity detection, smart search and temperature management are built-in features which ensure high system security and its embedded architecture leads to the highest reliability. SISTORE MX, with its many interfaces and protocols already integrated, is particularly suited to use in banking or retail applications as it allows ATM machines or cash registers to be connected and video images easily searched for by transaction data.

The demonstration software offers a fully functional simulation and testing based on four virtual analogue cameras with the possibility of also connecting one live digital IP camera

The system is easy to navigate with an icon based menu bar at the top of the screen, with a drop-down menu which offers a wide range of actions, from simulating an alarm condition to downloading the latest software updates. In addition, the screen features a side bar which offers real-time analysis of the system integrity and camera status. Also available within the software is full access to on-line help, plus the configuration and user manuals for SISTORE MX.

Sven Giesecke, Siemens Building Technologies, team leader Recording & Software within CCTV product line, comments - "The software is really easy to use and we want many people to test it to see this for themselves. We therefore decided to demonstrate this with a fully functioning demo which allows potential customers to 'try before they buy'."
