Cathexis shows improved ANPR during its debut at Security Essen

Cathexis will be making it debut when it exhibits at Security Essen later this month, from 25-28 September 2018 at the Messe Essen Exhibition Centre, in the City of Essen, Germany.

Cathexis will be showcasing the company's Cathexisvision Video Management Software which offers feature-rich functionality, ease of installation and use for a range of vertical markets such as retail, manufacturing, banking, healthcare, mining, education, business parks, city surveillance, government, remote monitoring, as well as commercial property sectors.

One of the Cathexisvision VMS greatest strengths is its ability to integrate seamlessly with a vast array of third-party systems, such as access control, intruder, fire, BMS and point of sale. This ensures efficient and effective surveillance solutions that deliver critical information to key stake holders, allowing them to make timely critical decisions and reap maximum return on investment.

Some of the Cathexisvision features that will be highlighted at the show include smart video search techniques such as; Snap Search – thumbnail images of a scene over a specified time period; Smart Search – motion video search in a selected area over a specified time period; and Activity Trails – colour overlays on a scene representing the most recent motion within the scene

Advanced video analytics allow for improved noise suppression on Standard VMD, improved flare detection for sudden scene changes,improved camera tamper detection – shift, cover and defocus, dynamic background modelling on Advance VMD, and improved detection for outdoor environments by reducing false positives.

The new version also includes further enhancements to ANPR performance in terms of vastly improved recognition times, additional license plate libraries, improved database search,reporting infrastructure, adjacent camera mapping and the ability to select an adjacent camera view from a pre-defined overlay in the direction of possible motion. In addition, operators can easily follow moving “objects of interest” across multiple camera views.
