Integration with Videoguard was made mandatory by SIRA in 2018, and requires that video surveillance systems deployed in most public buildings and spaces complete this certification.

According to Cathexis, because of the depth and detail of the integration, and the effort required by both manufacturer and Videoguard development teams, only a select few VMS (video management software) companies are currently Videoguard Approved.
