Parking stations for electric vehicle charging need to be provided for in line with demand. The regulation states that over 2% of the total number of parking spaces at both public and private parking facilities should be reserved for EVs, and from 2025, it was set to be between 5-10% of the total ratio.
At present, as requested by the National Energy Conservation and Carbon reduction policy, electric vehicles are expected to grow rapidly.
Many electric vehicles are parked in the basements of buildings, which can be sometimes a cause for concern. Although the charging stands themselves do not contain batteries, there is concern about the batteries in the electric vehicles, if for example they are damaged, then the temperature may raise very high during charging. This could also pose a risk of fire or even explosion. For this reason the Shany thermal cameras are able to monitor this potentially serious situation, and provide early prevention of fire, which could be particularly important whilst the EV is plugged in and charging at the EV station.
Shany thermal camera and NVR products have already been installed at EV charging sites in many car parks at major metropolitan cities of Taiwan.
