GS Yuasa entered into a long-term agreement with Boeing in 2016 and since then the manufacturer has been supplying a range of space qualified lithium-ion battery cells for the leading aerospace company. GS Yuasa lithium-ion batteries were recognised by Boeing at the 2019 Boeing Global Supplier Conference in Los Angeles, California for their exceptional performance, deployment capability and scalability.

As Boeing’s satellite platforms grow and evolve, the energy required to power such applications will also increase. GS Yuasa has therefore developed a technology roadmap in anticipation to meet this exciting challenge. Further lithium-ion cells will be deployed across Boeing's Geostationary and Low and Medium Earth Orbit satellite portfolios.
