The company will also profile its advanced information security technologies and counterintelligence service. Detected IT security incidents have increased 35% over the previous year, while the average financial cost is up by 18% according to PWC’s Global State of Information Survey 2014, leading to a need for increased vigilance. NEC’s technologies are designed to protect governments and enterprises from the growing risk of digital disruption and physical security threats and help create safe and secure smart cities.
During the show, NEC will also demonstrate its broad range of behaviour analysis technologies. NEC’s exhibits include the world’s first crowd behaviour analysis solution which uses security camera footage and real-time image analysis to automatically detect accidents, violence, public disorder and other crimes. For example, it quickly alerts security personnel if a crowd has formed around a fallen individual in a busy train station, enabling them to take prompt action to restore public safety.
Noboru Takahashi, President & CEO, NEC Saudi Arabia Ltd commented, “NEC is in a unique position to help private and public organisations take a multi-layered approach to protecting themselves from emerging physical and cyber security threats and to reduce the associated public safety, reputation and financial risks. Through a combination of market leading products and services, ongoing R&D and partnerships with key international security agencies like Interpol, NEC has a relentless focus on countering the threat of highly organised criminals on a global basis.”
