Todd Research has several key solutions to the risk of weapons in schools:

- Random scan and search. With the travelling X-ray conveyor and Metal Detector it is possible to come on a random day and screen the pupils. This is a valuable deterrent against future offenders.

- Handheld metal detectors. Now that head teachers and those who have been assigned to search pupils can confiscate mobile phones and music players if they have been used to distract pupils from learning, the teachers need a means to locate these items on pupils. Added to this function is the increased need to screen pupils for weapons. Our MD1 and MD3 can screen for metals and our MD5 can even see hidden items behind belt buckles.

- Cabinet and Conveyor X-ray machines. These are available to lease, buy or hire for as little as one week and full training is provided upon installation.

- Metal Detector Gateways. These have been proven to deter pupils from carrying weapons or other banned metallic items. These too are available to lease, buy or hire from one week onwards and full training is provided upon installation. The MD2 and MD4 provide airport-style screening and the MD6 offers basic metal detection with the added bonus of being fully portable so you can take the gateway out on random days and store it in a small space.
