Sony announces new free support service

Sony announces that a one year Primesupport service agreement will be included for free with all network video cameras sold in the EU, Norway and Switzerland. PrimeSupport helps customers reduce downtime by offering advice on product operation and functionality and by efficiently managing any product repairs or replacements. Customers can also choose to extend the agreement's duration to a total of three years for a small additional charge.

"We have listened to our customers and made Primesupport a standard service offering for all our network video cameras; this answers two critical customer needs - a telephone technical helpdesk and fast product repair," says Simon Nash, European Product Manager of Sony Network Video Monitoring. "The Primesupport portfolio of services sets a new benchmark for after sales service. It is more than just a standard warranty, and brings peace of mind to customers, who now can confidently calculate the 'actual' fixed costs of ownership for their cameras."

Once customers have registered their Primesupport contracts, they will be able to access a telephone helpdesk as well as the Primefix repair service which will provide a replacement camera or repair services if there is a camera failure within the one year term.

The new Sony PrimeSupport offering is bundled with the following series video network cameras sold from 1st September 2006: SNC-CS10P, SNC-CS11P, SNC-CS3P, SNC-CS50P, SNC-DF40P, SNC-DF70P, SNC-RX550P, SNC-RZ25P, SNC-RZ30P, SNC-RZ50P, SNC-Z20P, SNC-P1, SNC-P5.
