Security professionals met at Legic's end-user summit

London, UK

Security and facility management experts from around the country gathered at the first UK End-User Summit organised by Legic, to discuss challenges in their working environment and how the contactless smart card solutions can support their strategy.

Legic organised its first end-user summit in the UK on April 24-25 in London and Manchester. The successful event was a unique opportunity for industry experts to discuss openly with senior executives and peers, the challenges they faced in terms of security and access management and to hear how the contactless smart card applications could answer those and impact on business life.

The event boasted presentations from top-speakers from BMW UK, Airbus and VIDEF. BMW and Airbus, both leading company in their respective industries, shared their experience with the contactless smart card solutions, having more then 100,000 credentials and thousands of readers for access control, vending and parking in operation.

A representative from BMW UK therefore presented how the security concept implemented by the company responded to the challenges it was facing.

Furthermore the security operations manager from Airbus discussed the requirements of multinational companies today and in the future, based on Airbus's experience, and explained the importance of the contactless smart cards in supporting a variety of user-applications in the context of multinational companies.

The event also included a presentation by a consultant from Videf, a security consultancy, who raised the issue of today's needs for security installations. Last, a key account manager from Legic assessed the constant evolution in the companies' demands for security and flexibility, and discussed the solutions they sought for their organisation.

The detailed presentations and the expertise of the speakers created the right conditions for an exchange of ideas and discussions amongst the industry experts present at the event and proved to answer their questions on the security issues they faced.

The success of the event shows that there is a need for exchange of views and discussions in the security and facilities management industry, a need that future Legic end-user summits to be organised in the UK will continue to address.
