Samsung releases time saving varifocal lens bullet camera

Chertsey, Surrey

Supplied pre-built into a compact IP66 rated housing and varifocal lens, the SCO-2080 will reduce installation costs by negating the need to spend time fitting external housings.
The competitively priced SCO-2080, which is a true day/night camera with a removable infrared cut filter, has a long list of built-in features which include eight motion detection zones and twelve privacy masking zones, whilst coaxial control compatibility allows the fourteen language on-screen display menu to be accessed from the comfort of the control room via a compatible DVR, such as the latest coaxial control versions of Samsung’s SRD series.

The inclusion of Samsung’s W-V DSP chipset ensures that the SCO-2080 can deliver very high quality colour images at 600 TV lines during the day and superb quality 700 TV lines monochrome images at night. Third generation Samsung super noise reduction (SSNRIII) technology equips the SCO-2080 with the power to eliminate image noise in low-light conditions without creating ghosting or blurring and with the additional benefit of up to 70% reduction in bandwidth requirements or video storage space, compared to standard cameras.

Other key features include highlight compensation technology which identifies and neutralises excessively bright areas in an image, enabling the operator to view previously hidden details. The SCO-2080 also benefits from Samsung super dynamic range (SSDR) which automatically lightens the dark areas within a scene whilst maintaining the brighter areas at the same level. This ensures that the dark areas become more visible allowing the operator to ‘view’ objects in the shadows.

The SCO-2080 is a part of a range of Samsung bullet cameras which includes the SCO-2370 that has a 37x optical zoom capability, the SCO-2120, a 12x optical zoom day/night camera with built-in IR LEDs and the SCO-2080R which is identical to the SCO-2080 but with built in IR LEDs.
