Rimage new series of digital evidence solutions

Dietzenbach, Germany

Working with global law enforcement agencies, Rimage has developed a series of digital evidence solutions that change the way evidence is processed.
The volume of seized and stored evidence data follows Moore's Law, doubling on average every 18 to 24 months. The duration of proceedings of a civil action at a Higher Regional Court in Germany in 2010 was on average 24.6 months, as is apparent from the German Federal Statistical Office. This means that when one proceeding of civil action is completed, the following proceeding will have to handle and manage twice as much evidence.

Due to this growth, it is becoming increasingly difficult for law enforcement agencies to keep short the duration of proceedings and manage, archive and distribute evidence properly while preserving the chain of custody and preparing for prosecution.

The new Rimage digital evidence solutions combine industrial grade robotics, CD/DVD/BD recorders, an integrated digital camera, professional disc printing and an intuitive touch screen user interface. Rimage Evidence Disc Solutions enable efficient and effective evidence logistics in an amazing variety of applications like CD/DVD/BD forensics, surveillance video or interrogation room video.

"With our Evidence Disc Solutions we have a share in helping law enforcement agencies make proceedings faster and more secure,“ says Juergen Sattelmayer, Rimage Business Development Manager EMEA.

Rimage Evidence Disc Solutions fit into all areas of agency workflow, allowing law enforcement personnel to automatically offload evidence from disparate devices to CD/DVD/Blu-ray media for distribution and long-term archive - all while saving time and improving accuracy.

Evidence Disc Solutions combine Rimage’s Producer and Professional disc publishing platforms with Rimage’s suite of law enforcement software includes surveillance software suite for exporting and archiving surveillance video, evidence offload software for multi-device evidence offloading and forensic software for streamlining data extraction, imaging and content reporting for disc-based evidence.
