Pro-Vision releases 4 channel H.264 network encoder from Vicon

Shrewsbury, Shropshire

Pro-Vision have released a new H.264 encoder produced and developed by Vicon.
The H264-ENCDR network encoder is a 4-channel digital video server that converts analogue camera inputs into streamed IP video data. This embedded device, which is specifically designed to integrate tightly into the Viconnet Video Management System (VMS), provides advanced features that include museum search, analytics, dynamic load balancing as well as automatic detection in the Viconnet VMS. It also offers full support for NTSC/EIA and PAL/CCIR video cameras.

Simon Davies, Pro-Vision’s Internal Sales Manager, told us “The H264-ENCDR is easily configured using Vicon’s exclusive Vnsetup utility, which quickly finds the unit on the network and enables the assignment of an IP address. In addition, the server supports full PTZ control, alarm reporting, picture quality settings, external sensors, macros, and alarm configuration”.

Simon added “For flexibility of installation there are several mounting options for the H264-ENCDR. The unit can either be mounted on a desktop or shelf using the rubber feet provided or fixed to a rack or wall using the optional mounting kit”.
