Oncam Grandeye app exceeds over 10,000 downloads

London, UK

Introduced in November 2012, Onvu360 has already been downloaded by more than 10,000 people around the world, placing Oncam Grandeye at the forefront of a new trend in the industry –the remote and mobile viewing of security systems.
Oncam Grandeye believes it was the first company to offer its customers a free, downloadable iOS app so they could utilise the de-warping abilities of its award-winning 360-degree surveillance cameras on a mobile device.

Oncam Grandeye puts business-quality surveillance and its patented de-warping facility at its customers’ fingertips— literally—giving them the ability to monitor their Oncam Grandeye 360-degree cameras in real time, enabling 24/7/365 access to the information that is business critical.

“The response to our mobile de-warping technology has been overwhelming,” said Adam Pineau, Director of Systems Engineering for Oncam Grandeye. “This is the first of many technological innovations Oncam Grandeye plans to introduce to the market, knowing that the bar has clearly been set.”

The app features zero latency, and is able to change its viewpoint and perspective as the user utilises the pinch-to-zoom features of any iOS device.

Currently, the app provides both live and recorded streams at numerous key locations around the globe, including the Aria Casino in Las Vegas; a live view of Oncam Grandeye’s U.S. headquarters in Lowell, Mass.; a Subway store in Santa Monica; and the Hammersmith Road in London. The top “in-app” purchase is the starter pack of up to five cameras set at an economic price point.

The Onvu 360 app provides unlimited access to a 1-megapixel, 2-megapixel or 5-megapixel stream and supports Oncam Grandeye's Halocam and Evolution line of cameras. Streaming over wi-fi, 3G and 4G LTE connectivity, it can go into "snapshot mode" to save precious data if used over a cellular-data network.

The app allows users access to Oncam Grandeye's patented de-warping technology plus an unlimited list of camera profiles to monitor all Oncam Grandeye 360-degree IP cameras; Users can also access a grouping of cameras to provide easy navigation and support for 1MP, 2MP and 5MP camera streams; There is also support for Oncam Grandeye's full line of IP cameras, the gesture-based de-warping functionality and a shake to reset current de-warped stream functionality. Users can also enter snapshot mode to manually update a camera while using a cellular connection and there is support for H.264 and MJPEG streams as well being Ipad and Iphone compatible.

“Recent advantages in mobile technology have allowed us to develop on platforms others never thought possible—many other companies are trying to follow our lead,” said Pineau. “Our patented, 360-degree de-warping technology is a truly groundbreaking experience that you need to see and touch to believe, and we see it as a game changer in the surveillance arena."
