Multitone targets fire services to take part in Fire app trials

Telford, Shropshire

Multitone Electronics plc will be using the British APCO 2017 conference and exhibition as a platform to highlight the company’s powerful I-Console and Firecoder combined fire station management and communications solutions.  The even will take place at the International Centre, in Telford over the 21st and 22nd of March, 2017.

Multitone will also be showcasing its latest mobile app technology, based around its highly successful @ppear mobile platform, and is targeting the emergency services to further develop this effective and secure messaging solution.

The new Multitone Fire app is being developed with fire services specifically in mind, as Multitone’s Emergency Services Major Accounts Manager, Peter Eborall commented, “We are excited to be showcasing the abilities of the new app at this year’s show. Using a dedicated app is the perfect way to assist the mobilisation and management of each fire station. To develop the app further, we are keen to work with interested fire services to trial the system and to harvest feedback from the fire crews and service operators that will be using it.”

Peter continued, “As a complement to a pager, the Fire app registers a response from each crew member and tracks their progress to their station from whichever location they are at, helping to effectively manage the team’s response. The system can also be used to track the movement of the individual team members, right to the fire station, showing locations on a map. This allows the Command and Control team to ensure everyone is accounted for when required.”

Once installed on a fire fighter’s mobile smart device, the Multitone Fire app will simultaneously receive an alert along with their pager. The crew member simply has to tap an accept button to start the process. Using the device’s GPS tracker, the Command and Control team can ascertain exactly where every individual is on their journey to the station.

Peter concluded, “This will be another exciting year at the British APCO event, with a huge array of technology on show which can help the emergency services save lives, whilst reaching targets to make the most of critical budgets. We are particularly keen to speak to fire service representatives about the opportunities to partner with us on the Fire app trials, but equally we are keen to speak to all visitors and would be delighted to offer you a demonstration of our latest innovative communications solutions.”
