Launch of new patented facial recognition system

Aurora Computer Services are to launch a new facial recognition system at Biometrics, Westminster, London in the Autumn.

Aurora Computer Services Ltd are one of the U.K.'s leading provider of software solutions utilising innovative biometric facial recognition technologies. These have been in commercial use for over 5 years and are used for verification and identification.
The current use of facial recognition means that for verification each person must be enrolled in the same lighting and environment conditions as they verify in. Previously facial recognition has experienced problems with diffused lighting, daylight and windows letting in sunlight. This has resulted in the acquired facial image being too light or dark, too bright or covered with glare.
At Biometrics 2006, from 19-20 October - Westminster, London, Aurora will be introducing an exciting new addition to their facial recognition systems. The cost effective Aurora Image+ patented camera facial recognition solution can combat & overcome these lighting issues so it will no longer be a requirement for lighting conditions to be controlled.
The Aurora Image+ will automatically adjust camera settings to get the best possible face image regardless of light levels, skin tones and backlight. Continuous image quality assessment means the camera responds and adapts to sudden changes in lighting conditions and will automatically increase exposure to ensure optimum quality of the face image if you are in shadow.
Other parts of the photo are over exposed but the face area is excellent quality for face recognition. Facial biometrics can offer an extra layer of security to an access control system. The enrolment and verification of facial recognition is non intrusive and non threatening. Bespoke development capabilities allow us to offer complete solutions for a wide range of private & public sector organisations. Current customers include UK Government, UK Police, Construction Industry, Ports and Harbours.
