IMS Research 2011 report shows impressive strides for Hikvision

Hangzhou, China

For two consecutive years, Hikvision has been recognised as the number one worldwide supplier of DVRs by IMS Research, and their latest 'World Market for CCTV and Video Surveillance Equipment Report 2011' continues to demonstrate the company's strenght on a global scale.
Of particular note, for the very first time, Hikvision was ranked number 7 in the category of network cameras. In terms of CCTV and video surveillance equipment, Hikvision moved up from last year's fifth position to number 4 for this year. Notably, Hikvision soared all the way up to the number one spot for supplier of enterprise DVRs, which greatly improved upon last year's fifth position.

"It’s the first time for our network cameras to be listed in the rankings, and this fully affirms the effort we have made over the years," said Polo Cai, Vice President of Hikvision.

Currently, IP-based technologies are changing the nature of video-surveillance within the larger security sector. Network video surveillance and monitoring has become an inevitable trend, with more and more CCTV suppliers developing and promoting network products. Hikvision remains a leader among them.

"In addition to concentrating on the development of high performance back-end products – such as DVRs and NVRs – we are dedicated to enhancing our R&D capability in network cameras, so as to maintain our leadership in this ever-changing market," Mr. Cai said. "Furthermore, moving forward, Hikvision will continue to strengthen our strategic collaboration with our video-management software partners; integrating our products with industry-leading software and hardware manufacturers, and continuing to bring greater value and versatility to the customer," Mr. Cai summed up.

'I am grateful for the recognition from IMS Research, and these results show Hikvision’s ongoing dedication in product development and innovation," said Yangzhong Hu, President of Hikvision. "We still have a long way to go in this increasingly competitive market, but with the joint effort of this Hikvision team, and our comprehensive understanding of the video surveillance industry; we are fully prepared for the next big challenge and our next big leap."

Gary Wong, senior research analyst at IMS Research, said that even though Hikvision was established just 10 years ago, the company has shown dynamic growth in recent years and has become one of the market leaders in the video surveillance industry. "While the company continues to gain market share in both their domestic Chinese market and the international market, it will be interesting to see how fast it can continue to grow."
