H264 Capable Network Surveillance System

CIEFFE has launched Nettuno camPX Box network camera that delivers state of the art technology in video compression and image quality.
Pixim and CIEFFE launches the CIEFFE NETTUNO camPX network surveillance camera with POE (power over ethernet) capability, based on Pixim's patented Digital Pixel System® (DPS)
technology.
CIEFFE's NETTUNO camPX incorporates Pixim's latest DPS technology, the Orca chipset, to achieve all-digital superior picture quality, delivering excellent images in both normal and WDR scenes in any lighting conditions, 24/7. Pixim's image consistency and accuracy overcomes typical impediments of existing analogue CCD technologies to provide positive subject identification caused by variable lighting and limited colour accuracy.
Pixim chipsets combine impressive and powerful features that include excellent low light performance (0.5 lux in colour), wide dynamic range (120dB max), a progressive scan imager with global shutter that minimises motion artifacts, and high Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) even at high temperature.
CIEFFE's NETTUNO camPX addresses the demand for cost-effective, high performance, all digital, wide dynamic range (WDR) network video surveillance cameras coupled with the CIEFFE Digital Management System that features web-based intuitive
interfaces and powerful tools to enable easy system setup and configuration.
"Thanks to Pixim's DPS technology we were able to design a very low noise camera with true Progressive D1 resolution that allows us to efficiently stream video using our multi encoder technology and the H.264 (MPEG4 Part 10) or MPEG4 Main Profile algorithm," explains Fabrizio Colciago, Technical Director of CIEFFE. "Our compression algorithms provide state of the art technology in all digital video compression while delivering Pixim's Orca chipset's excellent image quality."
The CIEFFE MPEG4 Main Profile is able to deliver four streams of video simultaneously with different quality and resolution. With the H.264 algorithm CIEFFE can also stream video with very low bandwidth (less than 512Kbit/s) and DVD quality.
"We are excited about CIEFFE's adoption of Pixim's technology. CIEFFE has developed an excellent solution for the networked video surveillance market, integrating advanced capabilities such as Pixim's DPS imaging technology, H.264 compression, and CIEFFE's video management architecture," said Joe Montalbo, President and CEO of Pixim.
"CIEFFE's focus on complete network solutions will make the NETTUNO camPX a great fit for demanding and complex surveillance needs."
CIEFFE will market the NETTUNO camPX to all sectors that require quality, performance and reliability, including airports, casinos, banks, retail, city controls and money count surveillance systems.
