The brand new security control room furniture for WestQuay Shopping Centre has been designed manufactured and installed by Gresham Wood Technical Furniture and Design.
The monitor wall was designed according to these requirements enabling operators to view a greater number of cameras throughout the site at any one time. The control room also has a greater amount of storage freeing up more space for the operators. A constant problem when designing CCTV Control Rooms.
George Rutson, Director of Gresham Wood Technical Furniture & Design comments, "as specialists in security control rooms, we have designed the control room furniture to be made from the most hard wearing and durable material available."
The desks are a terracotta colour. "In choosing the colour scheme, for me, the traditional grey and blues did not create a positive energised working atmosphere whereas the warmer Terracotta colour and the control room furniture made by Gresham Wood Technical Furniture & Design really do provide an efficient, clutter free and well organised environment in which to work" comments Jo-anna Tallack, Customer Services Manager at WestQuay Southampton.
"George at Gresham Wood certainly grasped a clear understanding of our needs and requirements and the product he produced was both innovative and of an extremely high quality" adds Jo-anna.
For this project, Gresham Wood worked in close collaboration with Shopping Centre specialist systems integrator, G1 Ltd.
Modern furniture designed and manufactured by Gresham Wood Technical Furniture & Design is already used by a host of diverse sites across the UK. High profile installations include control room facilities in airports, ports, local government, MOD, post production and broadcast. All bespoke control room furniture complies with the ISO 11064 Ergonomic Design of Control Centres and DDA standards.
