Set against this backdrop Flir Systems' first security and surveillance international sales meeting was a particularly buoyant affair. Held in Santiago Spain in early April, the two day event was attended by eighty distributors of Flir Systems' cameras from across the Eurasia region.
Presentations from the regional sales managers highlighted the broad diversity of security applications that are benefiting from infrared technology. The meeting also provided the opportunity for a closer look at new additions to the company's portfolio of products.
This was first time many attendees had seen the new cameras from CEDIP, the infrared specialist that Flir Systems acquired in early 2008. Thanks to this development the security and surveillance industry now has access to an exceptionally wide choice of cameras employing different detector technologies.
The meeting was also held in the wake of breaking news that Flir Systems has acquired Ifara Technologies, the Spanish developer of analytical software and developer tools for the security and surveillance sector.

As a result demand for infrared cameras is growing steeply for industry leader Flir Systems. Economies achieved through the company's volume manufacture of detector cores have allowed the production of systems that provide good value for money and a rapid return on investment.
