Euresys launches 8 channel video encoder

Liege, Belgium

Euresys has recently launched the Picolo.net HD8R, an 8-channel HD-SDI / HDcctv video encoder in a 19-inch 1U chassis.
As the foundation of an adaptive video monitoring system, the Picolo.net HD8R is designed to deliver impressive performance, streaming video from up to 8 full HD (1080p30) or HD (720p60) cameras over an IP network.

HD-SDI / HDcctv transports uncompressed digital video from full HD cameras, satisfying the requirements of industrial applications such as the monitoring of critical processes, production facilities or remote-controlled machinery. Quality no-latency live video is available for display on local monitors before being fed to the Picolo.net encoder and streamed over the IP network for recording or remote display.

Moreover, HD-SDI / HDcctv is as easy to install and maintain as analogue CCTV systems. It uses the same coaxial cables as analogue (up to at least 100 metres of standard RG59 coaxial cables) for new or existing installations. This keeps upgrade-to-HD costs down in applications such as the video-surveillance of public, commercial or social infrastructure.

In high-security infrastructure applications, the Picolo.net is as secure as analogue video, as there is no way to hack into an IP network from a HD-SDI video camera or cable.

The Picolo.net HD8R combines all the advantages of HD-SDI with the benefits of ONVIF Profile S, which provides interoperability with standard video management software (VMS) applications. It features a high-quality H.264 encoder that can deliver up to three encoded streams per camera. With the Picolo.net HD8R, the highest quality HD video can be streamed, viewed, analysed and stored anywhere on an IP video-surveillance network.

The Picolo.net HD8R has been engineered to allow users to make the move to HD and discover a brand new world of clarity.
