Desktop biometric time and attendance system released

San Antonio, Tx (USA)

Fulcrum Biometrics, an international biometric technology provider and system integrator, has announced the availability of FbF Timeclock, a new desktop biometric time and attendance system developed in partnership with Legiant, a specialist in workforce management software.
FbF Timeclock is built on the Fulcrum Biometric Framework, a collection of reusable biometric components that can be rapidly assembled to deploy customized biometric-enabled web services and applications. FbF Timeclock integrates seamlessly with Legiant Timecard software, enabling organizations to quickly and cost-effectively deploy desktop biometric punch clock software that works with simple USB fingerprint scanners. Once an employee is enrolled in the Legiant system, he or she can punch in or out simply by placing a finger on the scanner. The employee’s identity is verified using the FbF BioServer, Fulcrum’s fast and highly accurate fingerprint identification server, and the employee’s information is logged in Legiant’s enterprise time and attendance software. The FbF Timeclock is especially useful for remote offices having as little as one or two employees because the cost of deploying each FbF Timeclock is so affordable.

“With today’s globalized and highly mobile workforce, many companies require a more flexible, scalable and accurate way of logging time and attendance,” said Ken Nosker, President of Fulcrum Biometrics. “With FbF Timeclock we combined Fulcrum’s expertise in biometric identification and application development with Legiant’s expertise in workforce management to create a system that is feature-rich, fast and cost-effective to implement, easy for IT to support and offers the high degree of accuracy only biometrics can provide.”

“Many organizations understand the benefits of biometric solutions, but finding an affordable, enterprise-class time and attendance system with biometrics can be difficult,” said Rod Crane, CTO of Legiant. “By partnering with Fulcrum Biometrics, Legiant can meet the needs of organizations that were previously unable to take advantage of biometrics to eliminate buddy-punching.”

The FbF Timeclock is the first in a series of products based on the FbF architecture that will be introduced in the coming months. The FbF Framework enables the rapid development and deployment of fingerprint, facial or iris biometric-enabled applications.
