CEM's Dr George Redpath will deliver high level IP Seminars at IIPSEC
Belfast, Ireland
Delivered by director of engineering Dr George Redpath this session looks at Integrating IP based Access Control. IP solutions for Access Control have been available for nearly 8 years, but are only now starting to gain popularity. The reasons for the slow growth are numerous but the single biggest problem is that IP solutions are frequently viewed as a way of providing the existing security application but using a different communication medium - a standards based method of connectivity.
The next generation of devices are migrating the application from the centre to the edge, and are beginning to unlock the true capability of an IP network. This will involve a paradigm shift in how IP based security devices operate, and how the user interfaces to them. Only when these devices are deployed will the remaining road blocks to IP security be removed.
True integration is the ability to seamlessly interface systems from different security disciplines to create a total solution that is greater than the sum of its parts. This high level seminar explores the flexibility of IP-networked security and takes an in-depth look at the issues involved in designing and connecting together such technology. Presented by experts the session will identify the critical issues when designing and integrating complex solutions.
With 20 years experience in Aviation Access Control, CEM are uniquely positioned to comment on industry developments. Using a practical case-study Dr Redpath will discuss how lessons learnt from previous installations such as Hong Kong International Airport have been applied - the IP solutions offered and how the client was supplied with a highly resilient security management system to fit their environment. See how CEM has worked in partnership with airports and how lessons learnt from this installation will be applied in the future.
