On display for the first time will be a range of new product developments including the CEM DIU 220 (power over ethernet door interface unit) along with the latest software version of the advanced CEM AC2000 SE (Standard Edition) access control system.
"As the leading security event in Europe, IFSEC is the ideal platform for CEM to showcase the very latest in the CEM range of proven access control solutions", comments Philip Verner, marketing manager at CEM Systems. "This year CEM will demonstrate the complete IP based solution including IP controllers and advanced IP card readers, as well as the unveiling of the new CEM power over ethernet door controller. This release will mark what we believe to be the first PoE (power over ethernet) door controller to the market" Verner continues.
As IP solutions have moved from niche to mainstream, CEM has taken advantage of PoE plus technology to be the first to offer the option to reliably power an access control reader and all door furniture via ethernet. With the anticipated release of the DIU 220, a complete door set (consisting of a controller, in and out reader, 500mA Maglock, door holder, sounder and strobe) can now be reliably powered using one CAT5/6 Ethernet cable, without the need to provide local mains power and AC/DC power supplies at the door.
Also on display will be the latest software version of the advanced CEM AC2000 SE system. Known throughout the security industry as a proven product, the AC2000 SE system offers a high-end security management solution with sophisticated software applications and intelligent hardware devices, including the advanced xProx 200 range of card readers that support both traditional 125 kHz Proximity and MiFare smart cards. With CEM manufacturing both the system hardware and software, AC2000 SE is fully customisable to meet client specific needs.
CEM technical director, Dr George Redpath will also be conducting a seminar entitled "Ethernet Devices - are we there yet?" on Thursday 24th May at the IFSEC IP & Networked Solutions seminar theatre.
