APT delivers barrier solution to Royal Mail

Tameside, UK

APT Security Systems (part of the APT Controls group), has installed three of its heavy duty (HD) and medium capacity (MC) barriers at the newly refurbished Royal Mail facility in Swansea to control access of large quantities of delivery vehicles in/out of the depot.

APT Security Systems' HD barriers are ideally suited to industrial-type sites with a frequent traffic flow, with a strong barrier arm providing greater security control. They are particularly designed for very wide roads/openings, and access for wider vehicles, and can be fitted with a
double curtain to offer added security without compromising on visibility. Various models are available, with arm lengths of up to eight metres.

Its MC security barriers are also proven to enhance site security with their fast operating action. The robust design and the advanced technology of the motion control mechanism protects components from the stress of high-speed operation, ensuring long-lasting reliability. Smaller than their HD counterparts, arm lengths range from two to six metres.

Both HD and MC barriers have the options of stop discs, pole lights, sensing safety edge, warning sounder and flashing beacon. The barriers were installed as part of a much larger refurbishment contract being undertaken at the centre, led by Vale Building Services. APT's equipment was specified by Cardiff-based architects, Powell Dobson.
