AMG Systems to present new Ethernet Switches at Intersec

Dubai, UAE

AMG Systems Ltd, announces that their new innovative 9000 series of ruggedized Ethernet switches will be showcased with live demonstrations for the first time at Intersec in Dubai.

According to Founder and MD Dr. Alan Hayes, "The 9000 series comprises a full range of hardened switches and media converters. As always with AMG products, the 9000 series is an easy to install plug-and-play range of products. The switches support ring topologies and offer a really cost effective networking solution without comprising on advanced functionality such as fast ring recovery - less than 20 ms - and Power over Ethernet. The transmission capability stretches to 40 km over singlemode fibre and the products are available for extended temperature range requirements from -40° to +75° Celcius, which makes them eminently suited for the harsh outdoor environment conditions in the Middle East region."

"The extended transmission range is achieved through the dual speed SFP Combo fibre port for increased network elasticity with no performance degradation. Spanning Tree and IGMP snooping functionality are also key features and the Power over Ethernet option allows for taking power, as well as data, to the edge of the network devices," Dr. Hayes explained.

The 9000 series also comprises hardened unmanaged switches - a flexible solution for small to medium networking applications. Further, hardened media converters that enable transparent extension and switching of 10/100 Mbits/s Ethernet over optical fibre links between multiple fast Ethernet twisted pair devices with no performance degradation. A range of Gigabit hardened media converters are also available, enabling Gigabit Ethernet over optical fibre links. The converters are full duplex, easy to use, flexible and compact and benefits from flow control and link fault pass through functionalities.

The Intersec exhibition and conference combines a huge international profile, with a strong regional impact. Over 17,200 visitors from 96 countries and over 700 exhibitors from 50 countries attended Intersec 2009.

Intersec 2010 takes place at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre in Dubai in the UAE January 17-19 2010.

Dr. Hayes' will further be presenting The Technologies and Topologies of CCTV Transmission Networks at the Commercial Security Forum on Sunday 17th January 11:45 - 12:30 in Hall 2.
