AMG delivers CCTV for Dead Sea resort in Jordan

Amman, Jordan

AMG Systems Ltd has been contracted by Electrosec to supply its new fibre optic transmission system Guardian-Lite 4700 for the security and surveillance system for Kempinski Hotel Ishtar Dead Sea.

Featured in Condé Nast Traveler's Hot List 2007 and cited as Jordan's 'Resort of the Year' in the 2006 Grumpy Gourmet Awards, Kempinski Hotel Ishtar Dead Sea is already being recognized as the premier resort destination in the region.

The Dead Sea is not only the lowest point on earth (400m below sea level) and the biggest natural Spa in the world; it also offers 330 days ultra-violet filtered sunshine, low humidity, warm climate, ozone-rich air, and mineral-loaded seawater. The destination is getting increasingly popular for spa treatments and general relaxation in a stress free healthy atmosphere rich in materials.

Electrosec is based in Jordan and specialized in design and supply of security, fire, CCTV, access control, audio visual and home automation systems for the Middle East region and Africa. The company was recently rewarded the contract for providing the Kempinski with a comprehensive integrated security system which includes live CCTV surveillance.

"Although Jordan is known as a relatively safe, welcoming and hospitable country, the increasing development of roads and hotels has meant that solutions for ensuring security and safety are key factors in any new construction project. We invited AMG systems to work with us for the detailed specifications and provision of a sophisticated CCTV solution, which will encompass more than 35 Pan Tilt Zoom (PTZ) cameras, for the transmission of real time, full bandwidth video directly to the control centre. We needed a solution which could monitor key areas of the resort and which would guarantee that the control centre would be looking at live pictures at any given point in time. I'd also like to commend AMG for the unique technical support they have been providing during the entire project" says Mr. Ibrahim Sawalha, general manager, Electrosec.

"AMG is deeply committed to the Middle East market, and we have seen an increasing number of projects in the region over the past few month. The Kempinski resort project is highly prestigious and we're extremely proud to be delivering our newest patented technology for the uncompressed transmission of video. Working with Electrosec on this project has been a pleasure and I see this particular project in Jordan is yet another example of the versatile applications our newest product range is selected for" comments Dr. Alan Hayes, founder and MD, AMG Systems.

Housed in a stylish Arabesque building, the new Kempinski accommodation includes 201 new rooms and suites joining the existing 117 within the exclusive Ishtar villas, all of which face the Dead Sea and each with their own unique style. During 2007 the resort will also open a Grand Ballroom, for up to 800 guests, extensive meeting facilities and an auditorium seating 228 people, a bowling centre, tennis courts and 10,000 m2 of holistic wellness facilities at the Anantara Spa, which will be the largest in the Middle East.

Situated 70 km Southwest of Queen Alia International Airport and 55 km Southwest of Amman, the capital city of Jordan, Kempinski Hotel Ishtar Dead Sea is the second Kempinski property in the country with a third hotel to debut 2008 in Aqaba.
