Operating within MI5, the UK’s Security Service, the NPSA serves as the National Technical Authority for physical and personnel security. This certification confirms both systems have undergone evaluation and approval against version 6.0 of the NPSA Barrier Mounted PIDS Standard.
Meeting UK Government security standards
NPSA certification represents one of the world’s most stringent evaluation processes for perimeter security systems, guaranteeing that approved technologies can safeguard the UK’s most sensitive facilities. The certification process examines detection performance, false alarm rates, environmental resilience, and integration capabilities under real-world conditions.
“Securing NPSA certification for both the Flexzone-60 and Fiberpatrol FP1150 systems underscores our commitment to delivering security solutions that satisfy the most demanding government standards,” said Fabien Haubert, Senstar CEO. “Their certification of these two products, in additional to our previously certified solution, Omnitrax, gives our customers confidence that these systems will perform reliably in the most challenging security applications. These latest certifications strengthen Senstar’s performance in critical infrastructure, continuing a legacy of reliability with over twenty years of presence in the UK.“
Rigorous testing standards
The certification validates the performance of the Flexzone-60 and Fiberpatrol FP1150 systems when installed on a NPSA-specified fence system that represents the type of high-security perimeter protection required for critical national infrastructure, government facilities, and other high-value assets.
Proven technology for critical applications
- Flexzone-60 employs advanced “loose tube” perimeter intrusion detection technology, utilising guided RF and Time-Domain Reflectometry (TDR) to detect and locate attempts to cut, climb or breach fencing. The system pinpoints intrusions accurately even during multiple simultaneous events amid background environmental noise.
- Fiberpatrol FP1150 utilises advanced fibre optic perimeter intrusion detection through Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS), providing continuous fence line monitoring by detecting vibrations, cutting attempts, and climbing activities. The system delivers exceptional sensitivity and precise localisation while maintaining robust performance across all weather conditions.
- Omnitrax is a terrain-following covert outdoor perimeter intrusion detection sensor. Sensor cables buried in the ground generate an invisible electromagnetic detection field. It functions as a standalone system, can be fully integrated into any command-and-control system, and can cover large perimeters with limited infrastructure.
The systems integrate seamlessly with existing security management platforms and can be deployed as part of comprehensive layered security strategies.
