Secutech International 2025 recently took place at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, where Vivotek took the opportunity to celebrate its 25th anniversary with the tagline theme “Make Tomorrow Easier, Today!” and also to showcase its latest innovations in AI and cloud technology.

One of the company's highlights during the show was the new AI-Powered cloud surveillance platform, Vortex, which reportedly created a buzz at ISC West in April. At Secutech visitors were able to experience the stand out  “Search By Text” feature, which integrates vision language models (VLM). This feature, according to the company, has already attracted significant attention from industry professionals and media demonstrating the broad impact of Vivotek’s solutions.

Vivotek’s upgraded Vortex platform, featuring the “AI Hub,” integrates a variety of AI functions, such as people and vehicle detection, behaviour analysis, and event insights. These features meet businesses’ diverse needs for efficiency, safety, and flexibility, maximizing their benefits.

Eliminates complexities and expands scope

One of the most anticipated features is “Search By Text,” which allows users to quickly locate people and vehicles from vast archives using natural language descriptions. For example, a user could search for "white SUV at Taichung factory on the afternoon of May 7"—eliminating the need for complex search criteria and expanding the search scope. While traditional AI search is limited to attributes like gender or clothing colour, this “Search By Text”, powered by VLM, enables for much more detailed queries, such as "a man pulling two suitcases yesterday", "a person wearing a helmet and mask, holding a stick", or "the white Tesla in front of the driveway yesterday". This eliminates the need for complex configuration settings and expands the search scope, showcasing the revolutionary potential of AI cloud technology in security processes.

In response to growing global concerns about cyber security, Vivotek was also showcasing its comprehensive “end-to-cloud” security framework. This combines device-side encryption, intrusion detection, and cloud transmission protection to help enterprises create secure and reliable smart security environments.

Vertical market offerings

Vivotek also continues to focus on key vertical markets, including smart cities, smart transportation, and smart factories, while expanding into retail, education, and sustainability. Key highlights at the exhibition included:

  • Smart Factory:  For the first time, Vivotek presented the explosion-proof camera EXBC01, developed in collaboration with Ledvontec. This product combines Vivotek’s advanced AI cameras and imaging technologies with Ledvontec’s explosion-proof enclosures. It meets IECEx international standards and Taiwan TS certification requirements, making it suitable for stable operation in high-risk areas. The camera also supports cloud management and edge computing, providing real-time alerts and cyber security protection.
  • Smart Transportation: A series of innovative AI features were displayed, including vehicle comparison for public transport cabins, crowd direction analysis, bicycle/stroller recognition, driver fatigue and attention detection, and more. These applications help transportation operators enhance safety management, improve passenger experience, and increase operational efficiency.
