Suprema Biostation 3 wins awards in Europe

Seoul, Korea

Suprema has recently won a silver trophy most recently, for its new Biostation 3 access control terminal at one of Europe's largest international security and safety system-related exhibitions, Expoprotection, which was held in Paris from November 15th to 17th, 2022.  And earlier in October, the company won the prestigious Detektor International Award for the same product at the Skydd exhibition Stockholm, Sweden.

The Expoprotection exhibition is held in Paris, France, once every two years, and attracts around 800 exhibitor companies and more than 20,000 visitors on average. The event’s awards ceremony recognises some of the most innovative products in different categories, including safety equipment, firefighting gear, security systems, and so on. The Expo Protection 2022 Awards ceremony featured 52 nominations, with only 15 products receiving awards. Among the winners, Suprema’s Biostation 3 access control terminal took the silver trophy in the safety and security category.

Biostation 3 was recognised for its innovation and convenience as an intelligent security system that provides various access authentication options such as facial recognition, RFID cards, QR codes, barcodes, and mobile access. This includes the feature ‘Face Template on Mobile’, making it possible to store the individual’s facial authentication on a smartphone, meaning the biometric information is held securely in the smartphone as a data subject and complying with GDPR. In addition, Biostation 3 provides 100% contactless authentication with or without masks, in line with a market environment where the reactions to the Covid-19 pandemic have brought contactless security solutions to the fore. Also, Biostation 3 provides VoIP Intercom which enables seamless communication with all doors and comes equipped with the security industry’s first AI processor enhanced with an NPU (Neural Processing Unit), providing the highest level of performance in facial recognition access authentication.

In October, at the international security exhibition 'Skydd 2022' held in Stockholm, Sweden, the Biostation 3 won the 'Best Product' award in the access control category at the 'Detektor International Award 2022', which is the most prestigious security technology award in Europe.

“These consecutive prizes are a recognition of our R&D hard work during the pandemic. Suprema launched Biostation 3 by thoroughly analysing the existing access control system's market problems, market needs, user experience, and defining technical requirements.” said Suprema Europe and North Africa, Sales Director, Baudouin Genouville. “It reflects 20 years of Suprema strategy to invest in design and technological innovation aggressively to bring the security market forward and confirm its leading position in secure access control and biometric identification.”
