The Theia MY23F lens wins product of the year award in the Video and Surveillance category

Theia Technologies' MY23F has been awarded The Security Today New Product of the Year in the Video Surveillance Hardware & Accessories category.

The independently juried contest honours the outstanding product development achievements of security equipment manufacturers whose products are considered to be particularly noteworthy in their ability to improve security.

With its 116° horizontal field of view and <0.5% optical distortion, according to Theia, the MY23F is the widest, low distortion lens for 1/1.8” imagers on the market. The fixed iris provides 5+ megapixel 200lp/mm resolution performance and is NIR corrected for say/night use.

The ruggedised lens has a metal structure and focus lock for shock and vibration resistance, and it is offered in a combination C/M12 mount.

The MY23F lens uses Theia Technologies’ patented Linear Optical Technology to correct barrel distortion optically, without software by creating a rectilinear lens; straight lines in the scene will also be straight in the image. With a rectilinear lens, there is no curving of the image nor compression at the edges so the resolution at the edge of the image promises to be higher than traditionally designed wide-angle lenses.
