DI Awards 2026 - The winners revealed!

Stockholm, Sweden

The Detektor magazine's editor-in-chief, Lennart Alexandrie (left in the picture), congratulated the first prize winners: Alexander Holmström (Acre Security), Björn Adméus (IQsight), Eelko Griepink (Optex), and Nedim Eskinazi (Brivo).

Yesterday afternoon during the Skydd international security event, the winners of the 2026 Detektor International Awards were announced. Twelve manufacturers received awards for their latest solutions distinguished by innovation and customer value. The overall winners in the four distinct categories are Optex, Acre Security, IQsight and Brivo.

Established in 2000, the Detektor International Award is one of the most prestigious and recognised prizes in the security industry.

“With this award, we aim to highlight solutions that represent true innovation and deliver significant customer benefits,” said Lennart Alexandrie, editor-in-chief and founder of Detektor magazine.

“The 2026 Detektor International Award reflects, in particular, how the industry has embraced AI-powered solutions to simplify management and significantly enhance the user experience, while adding more advanced functionality,” he added.

Independent award

The Detektor International Award is not an accolade that manufacturers can apply for. The selection process is entirely independent, conducted by the editorial team at Detektor, who actively search for innovative products and solutions through their news reporting and attendance at industry trade shows. Submitted products are evaluated before deciding which 12 solutions are nominated as finalists and receiver of either the Innovative Achievement Award or the first prize: Best Product Award.

Four product categories

The Detektor International Award features four categories:

  • Alarm & Detection
  • ID & Access Control
  • Video Surveillance
  • IoT & Security Solutions

Alarm & Detection – the overall winner

The first prize in the Alarm & Detection category was awarded to Optex from Japan for their TXI Series, a range of outdoor high-mount curtain detectors for perimeter protection.

ID & Access Control – the overall winner

The first prize in the ID & Access Control category went to Acre Security from USA for Acre Via – a generative AI assistant for Acre’s security platform, initially focused on access control.

Video Surveillance – the overall winner

In the Video Surveillance category, IQsight from the Netherlands took the first prize for their IVA Pro Context. It is an AI-powered video analytics solution that combines established video analytics with generative AI and large vision models.

IoT & Security Solutions – the overall winner

Brivo, an American company, received first prize in the IoT & Security Solutions category for the Brivo Genius Mobile Agent, an agentic AI solution for mobile security management.

Innovative Achievement Awards

In addition to the first prize winners, eight other companies also received the Innovative Achievement Award during the ceremony.

In the Alarm & Detection category, Alarmtech from Sweden was recognised for its AOD 100, and they shared the award with Ukrainian manufacturer Ajax Systems, recognised for their Superior Hub G3 Jeweller.

In the ID & Access Control category, STID Security from France was awarded for STID Architect II, alongside HID from USA which received recognition for the HID M1 Transparent Gateway.

In the Video Surveillance category, Canadian firm, Genetec shared the award for its cloud-based unified security platform Security Center SaaS, while Openeye, from USA, was honoured for the AI-powered feature AI Visual Check.

Finally, in the IoT & Security Solutions category, Aritech from the USA was presented for its unified security platform, Fusion, alongside Zenitel from Norway, which received recognition for the VAIA – an all-in-one platform for public address and voice alarm systems.

Twelve great solutions

Detektor International’s editor-in-chief Lennart Alexandrie emphasised that all three nominated manufacturers in each category should be seen as winners.

“Being among the twelve selected products and solutions means that they met our jury’s criteria for innovation and customer benefits over and above hundreds of other products. Therefore, all twelve nominated manufacturers are winners and rightful recipients of the Detektor International Award,” he noted.
