New dual sensor cameras with 360 degree infrared imagery

Lund, Sweden

The Axis P4705 PLVE multi-directional panoramic camera is set to be available Q4 2022.

Axis Communications is releasing two dual-sensor, multidirectional cameras designed for wide angle overviews and zoomed-in detailed coverage, around the clock and even in challenging lighting. These compact cameras make it possible to see in two directions simultaneously.

The Axis P4705-PLVE panoramic camera and Axis P4707-PLVE panoramic camera offer two 2 MP channels and two 5 MP channels respectively. Featuring Lightfinder and Forensic WDR, they ensure sharp, clear images in challenging or poor light conditions.

Built on ARTPEC-8, these high-performance cameras include a deep learning processing unit (DLPU). This enables improved processing and storage capabilities and makes it possible to collect and analyse even more data than before—on the edge. Plus, it delivers valuable metadata facilitating fast, easy, and efficient forensic search capabilities in live or recorded video. Additionally, thanks to Axis Object Analytics, they can detect and classify humans, and different types of vehicles—all tailored to specific needs.

Key features of these new series includes 2x2 MP and 2x5 MP multidirectional cameras, with one IP address; support for analytics with deep learning; 360° IR illumination; a 2.5x zoom; and Axis Lightfinder and Forensic WDR.

These cost-effective products feature two camera heads in one camera, so there’s only one camera to install, one cable to draw, one IP address, one video management software (VMS) license, and just one license for any analytics. Furthermore, they offer edge storage for added storage capability and reliability and remote zoom and focus ensures fast and accurate installation.

The cameras are set to be available through Axis distribution channels in Q4 2022.
