Wavestore enhances video management software

Hayes, Middlesex (UK)

The launch of the latest version of Wavestore's video management software has provided an opportunity to introduce a major change to its licensing process.
Gone are the days when there was a requirement to apply for a licence for each viewing PC station, as well as specifying what features were required. “The new licensing system incorporated into V5.30 makes life much more straightforward and simpler for both users and installers to administer,” said Wavestore’s Director, Chris Williams. “It is now only the Wavestore server and its feature set which needs to be licensed. This means that any viewing PC station, when connected to a Wavestore server, is automatically able to take advantage of all of the licensed features. Users will be able to download the client software onto additional or replacement PCs at no cost and without having to contact the installer.”

Wavestore has also packed V5.30 with a long list of other innovative and practical features including enhanced privacy/security as V5.30 can be configured to limit operators to view only a specific time frame of footage e.g.15 minutes. There is also an extensive range of 180 and 360 degree panoramic cameras that are now supported, including models manufactured by AMG Panogenics, Geovision, Mobotix, Oncam, Riva, Santec, Sentry 360 and Vivotek. Clients who invest in panoramic cameras from one of these manufacturers can take advantage of the de-warping feature which has been incorporated into Wavestore’s VMS. Version 5.30's on-screen display also offers multiple language options including simplified chinese and US english, as well as arabic, hindi, italian, romanian, spanish and turkish.

There is also a searchable server directory which allows for servers to be named and quickly found via a directory. This feature will be particularly useful for wide server groups as the user will not need to remember all of the individual server names or IP addresses when looking to connect to them.

The automatic forwarding of backup video clips when specific events occur enables V5.30 to automatically and instantaneously forward to users video clips of pre-defined events such as intruder detection or camera failure, allowing users to react quickly and efficiently to any incidents. There are also Improved backup capabilities where an operator is able to select from the main window a start and end point of the footage that needs to be backed up, whilst continuing to monitor live images. In addition, images captured by a panoramic camera which can been seen on the Waveview GUI when using the virtual PTZ function in a de-warped image, can now be backed up in a commercial format e.g. AVI, WMA, etc.

Finally this latest software version incorporates an improved diagnostic function,GPS indication of the server location and MPEG4 support.

“The new licensing process and the additional features incorporated into V5.30 demonstrate our ongoing commitment to constantly evolve our VMS for the benefit of our worldwide network of customers and business partners,” said Chris Williams. “We will continue to respond to their feedback to ensure our VMS is equipped to meet the expectations of their clients.”
